Rice paddies and buffaloes, girls in traditional dress and conical hats, vibrant markets, old Chinese temples, a Japanese covered bridge, lush rice fields, beautiful beaches, islands and much more… this is the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Hoi AN in Central Vietnam. Declared a Heritage site in 1985 it serves as a living example of a trading port thrived from the 15th to the 19th century. The city is full of colour and buzzes with activity but still retains is slow-world charm. Many people have been inspired to poetry, painting, film making and music by this magical place.
